of difficult to\ntroubleshoot because you can't be\ndealing with wiring and circuits and\ndifferent things like this which\nsometimes can be kind of problematic to\ntroubleshoot if you do have to start\ntroubleshooting voltages and different\nthings like this be sure to get\nschematics and diagrams for your\nspecific GM or Chevrolet vehicle because\nthere can't be differences but just keep\nin mind that sometimes this can be kind\nof hard to troubleshoot and so what are\nsome possible causes of a p1682 code\nwell the first thing is that there could\nbe a bad relay or a blown fuse or\nsomething like this so you can't go\ncheck all the fuses and relays and see\nif they're any good which fuses and\nrelays to check is going to be different\nit's going to depend on the year the\nvehicle things like this but basically\ncheck anything that says like ignition\nor ECM or anything like this you want to\ngo through and make sure none of those\nfuses are blowing and all those related\nrelays are good the next thing that\ncould cause this is that the ignition\nswitch went bad and it needs to be\nreplaced if anything goes wrong inside\nthat ignition switch with the contacts\nor the connections or anything like this\nthen it can cause problems then it's\ngoing to cause issues so the next thing\nthat could cause this is a bad ignition\nswitch and the next thing that could\ncause this is that there's something\nwrong inside the wiring like an open or\nshort and this is going to include all\nthe wires up around the ignition switch\none of these connectors might not be\nmaking a good contact or one of these\nwires inside the harness might have\npulled out a little bit or something\nalong these lines and all the ignition\nwires going up over to the fuse box and\naround to the ECM and things like this\nbut the next thing on the list is that\nthere's some kind of wiring problem and\nthe last thing on the list is going to\nbe that the engine control modules\nhaving an issue and this isn't too\ncommon usually it's going to be\nsomething else going to be inside the\nwiring or a bad ignition switch or\nsomething like that but it is possible\nthat it's gone bad usually when there's\nsome kind of issue with the engine\ncontrol module you're going to get other\ncodes like U codes like U one0 or\nsomething like that not all the time it\ncould be that just that one specific\ncircuit is failed but usually if there\nis a problem with the engine control\nmodule you're going to get other codes\nso if you are getting other codes be\nsure to pay **Location:** Back of engine, near oil filter housing (follow fuel line down)

2. **Verify oil level** and type
3. **Test oil pressure** - sensor reads 3 PSI vs 174 PSI (from video)
